Our Music Video (Final Draft)
This is the final draft of our music video and we have added a lot more scenes to the narrative to make sense and more understandable to the audience. The whole video is in keeping with the black and white theme thus giving it a certain feel to it. The narrative was a difficult part to produce and make sense of at the beginning but as we carried on film and putting down ideas it started to make more sense

First Draft Music Video
Below is our music video, we are currently looking for audience feedback to tell us where we can improve and what we can do better. By doing this we can take on board other things that people from different backgrounds intercept as good or bad which will ultimately make our music video the best it can be, bare in mind that this is only our first draft and in no means the finished article. If you would like to share any views regarding the video please comment below and we will try to take on board some of your suggestions, Thank You (Joel).

Updated poster
In this picture you see both members of the band Jack in the background and Joel in the foreground, When editing we had an idea that we should incorporate both the instruments, this is also making a clear understanding of who is who.

Audiences Response to Questionnaire
With these results we decided to go with The Fray - How to Save a Life. This questionnaire gave us a stimulus to bass our music video on and by this we knew what the audience would like to see in the music video. This determined how our poster would be and the theme of the whole music production. We decided that we would make it all black and white to give a sense of mystery, and making it seem sad.

Group reflection - so far
Group reflection
In this blog post we will be talking about our reflection/thoughts on our progress so far, we will be covering the video, blogger posts and our overall work!
Music video - We have recently came to the decision that our video is close to being finished, the finishing pieces evolve around the editing process - applying the correct transitions, in time with song and the overall piece. The recording process of our group is done but all that is needed now is to apply the edits to the video.

Examples of this can be found in the blog posts, Scott has been editing and recording our video and also having a role in our video, Jack and Joel have been participating in the video itself and blog posts. Overall our group has been working together in order for us to achieve the best.

Audience theory
Audience Theory
Audience theory - An audience theory can have a different affect on other viewers, it has a different influence/affect upon the overall audience. Audiences from past to present are powerless to prevent the influence over them. The influence over them has a message that makes the viewers act upon it, this can be related to the 'Hypodermic Needle' - The messages in media texts such as film, video games and music videos act as a needle, it injects the messages and theory into the viewers.
Examples of the audience theory in film is the movie 'Child's play' - during the movie various torture scenes are being shown to the audience, this has a negative affect towards the audience, the audience can then go out into the real world and replicate scenes from the film. This is related to the murder of James Bulger, he was tortured and murdered in a similar way to the film 'Child's play' thus having negative affect onto the audience.
Another example of the audience theory/Hypodermic Needle is in music videos, certain artists today can have both a negative and positive affect on the audience, one example of a negative affect is in the music video 'What it feels like for a girl' by Madonna. During the video it shows Madonna rampaging and causing destruction throughout a town, the negative affect of this is that other women may go out into the real world and replicate/copy what they had saw in the music video.

Facebook & Twitter Analysis

Facebook is an important feature for any musician to have as its probably the easiest way besides Twitter to interact with fans, on facebook you can interact directly with fans, via updating photos, commenting on other peoples pages and updating statusess to show what you are doing at the exact times. Facebook is a great way of advertising your band as if you gain a couple of likes and people actually start to notice your band your fan population will spread and many more people will be able to take notice of who you are.

The colours used are limited as its facebooks own website but we will have our logo as the profile picture and include a header of our band members. The comments shown on the Scripts facebook page are very polite and are spelt with correct english to show that they are professionals, The Script have liked other bands Facebook pages to show what type of music they enjoy, this is also similar to advertising as a big band like The Script have basically told their fans to go and listen to this music and if you like it follow them and take an interest into their page and then do the same with the bands they also like.
The Script will have fans from hundreds of countries worldwide, this is because they have a huge fan base, the script will also have other official band pages with different languages to be able to interact with their fans from a different language other than English.

Twitter review - Evanescence
Introduction
As part of our group planning we need to look at many other band sites, we will be looking at Twitter, Facebook and a website.
Purpose

Design

Content
Our band twitter is aimed at our audience, this is shown within our design and style. The design is basic and simple for the user to use, the users can easily go through the site to look at our tweets. This is shown in a picture below, in comparison our band twitter is a more simple and basic way of design compared to 'Evanescence'. The main content on the Evanescence site is to inform their fans of upcoming tours and releases, this is good because it keeps them up with information and doesn't distract/annoy them with irrelevant information. On our band twitter we include images and information about upcoming songs and releases, we also talk about information that is popular in the world at the time.

Filming in Everton Park
During Saturday myself and the group went to Everton park to film some key scenes in our music video, the reason we filmed in Everton Park was to make the video similar to some off the scenes from 30 Seconds to Mars' music video "City of Angels". The usage of the everton park skyline is key to the way we are trying to portray the band as as try to show that we are a humble group who remember their roots of home. The humble theme comes from the script who we are trying to be similar to as they are very humble and religious. Below are some images taken from filming they show myself and the cameraman (Scott)?filming certain scenes.

Vines!
https://vine.co/v/MMKjQ7rPtKO/embed
This a Vine to show other ways of Social Interaction with fans and the audience, many bands and celebrities use Vine as an easy way to show fans what they are doing although the videos are only a maximum of 7 seconds long. Vines are useful as they give a brief insight as to what the band are currently up to, fans feel a stronger connection and feel as if the artists are closer to them through this.Vines are very direct as they can instantly be streamed direct to fans, shared liked and even commented. Vines are also a great way of publicity as is other ways of social media as its basically free advertising as the app itself is free and people have more of a chance of seeing the video as social media is constantly around making it more available to people.

Poster> Album

Album Name
Names of Band Members
Less colours
Simple Decoration
House Theme
We are going to create a simple poster that draws the attention to just one item such as a microphone of musical instrument, we are going with the saying that "less is more". However cringey that sounds its what we as a group want as we think it will look more professional.
We have discussed that we should be keeping within the black and white them, thus making it simple and effective. As you can see in The Frays poster, they incorporate the band members within the poster and we're thinking of doing the same technique but in a different contents. This is just one of our ideas.

Other ideas from music videos

The image(s) located on the right are the images we would like to recreate not in the exact way as we would like to add more focus onto the skyline of liverpool. Doing this will fit into our album cover theme which also includes the skyline within it. We will keep the blog updated as to whether this whole concept will work or whether it may fail and not work well. We expect the biggest issue to be with lighting of the background as ideally we would like to film this at night/sunset but this is harder to arrange within a group as plans have to be made weeks ahead of schedule.
