Work, Work and More Work

This blog post is just to show again how much research we are doing as a group, with jack looking at other videos that have been performed by other media A2 groups. Scott is shown editing the actual music video, this shows just how much work we are putting into the music video while also looking at other music videos which could possibly benefit our music video and make it better. The work we are putting in trying to look at other music videos is a lot, Jack Hughes has been searching through many youtube music videos in order to obtain more information of what we could include into our music video as we are struggling to come up with 30 seconds with of footage that can better the footage such as a time-lapse or a dramatic outlook onto a nice view such as a skyline.

Scott Jenkinson is editing the footage we have shot throughout various days and linking them together to make sure there is continuity, the footage we have done is slowly coming together in terms or overall needs, we just need to film for a couple more hours, find some scenes that we can create and then transfer them into the music video. The editing software we are using is Video Studios Pro, this is simple to use and scott who is in charge of editing has used this software before so we should be able to use this very well.

Joel has been scouting several places in link with what jack has been doing, so if jack suggests we should do a skyline Joel will look at some locations available to us, take pictures and show us to see if they are suitable for what we would like to do. Places such as Everton Park view and Liverpool docks have been scouted and deemed suitable for viewing.

Website

Our Webpage is now fully live on-line and available for all of our audiences to visit and interact with
 please visit our website at the following link;

http://chchsmediagroup4.wix.com/one-point-three

This is the webpage for our band One Point Three, this webpage was designed in similar fashion to that off the script with keeping the colour pattern the same on all the pages, many pictures of the band showing our enjoyment with music, upcoming interactions and also social media. The good thing about having a website it that links to the website can be shown in advertisements such as Youtube, Facebook or Twitter.

The image below is of our website, the colour scheme used is similar to our blogger website, the colour scheme used similar to the script in terms of the boxes that hold the information, but with the limited website creativity it was too hard to replicate it, the background was meant to symbol the road ahead for our band, kind of in a metaphor way.

The type of writing is jazzy as its the only type of writing that is similar to music, the comic book style of the images seem very heroic, the font writing is all linked together as they are either black or red this symbolises and connotes our house style.

The point of a website is to have a sole place which is the bands own identity where everything is created by them and for them. This is different to twitter and there is a limitation as to what you can create there, you cant make a background a certain size, alter text, add other pages with links for example. Having a website is the much more efficient road to travel down as we can now include photos of the band on the same site, as well as things such as important dates and interactions with fans.

The Script Website Review

The Script
This website is a short insight of what we've been analysing and reviewing in our research. This websites objectives is to grab attention to their fans, straight away we see the huge slide show in the middle of the page, showing us their recent concerts, photo shoots and general business. This is good because their fan base might want to know what they do outside of filming. The Scripts target audience is the age range about 13 to 25, a young age group for a band that sings about very sensitive issues but they;re music does not contain any bad language which shows which is one of the main reasons that bands have a different age group that they target. The script focus some of their songs about religion and life which is what the ultimate aim of our band aims to sing about, the pictures on the website show the band performing which shows how much they enjoy spreading the music which also relates to our band as we love music and we love signing to our fans.

The script also include messages and interactions from their fans such as what's shown on the right. The script also include Instagram within their website on the homepage which shows just how social media has become a massive form of interaction to spread the message to their audience.

The Script's website is a very high quality website with a lot of HD photos that make the website look very professional, the colour scheme used matches each webpage and even the images shown just like the way we try to incorporate into our website. In our website we plan to include a lot of photos as well as adding social media feeds such as Facebook and Twitter to show that the band care about interacting with their fans and audience.

We Present the Logo for One Point Three....

This logo is very simply and shows off that the band is humble and only care solely about the music hence the microphone. It includes our name so as that other people such as the audience know who we are as a microphone by itself will not be truly recognisable as a band. Other bands such as Guns and Roses use Guns and Roses to show who they are, this may sound too simple but that just shows how recognisable they are and that simple logos may sometimes work the best as they are one of the most well known bands in the world

Creative Talents Put to Work

This Post shows how we are all working together towards our project using our best creativity skills, we have done this as myself and Jack are not as skilled on a computer as Scott and also myself and Scott don't know as much about playing guitar as Jack. Giving each person in the group their own area to work within which they enjoy ensures that more will get done and more work that is off a high standard. Making sure everyone in the group is happy about what they're doing is essential for creating the best project and work possible.

Scott is shown here filming jack as he plays Guitar, this shows how Scott is working in his creative field for the whole benefit of the group which helps us out a lot, Scott is in charge of directing, setting and editing and has been excellent in all three during the time we have been working on this music video.

Jack is an excellent musician, every time he has a guitar in his hands it looks natural. Jack is a big fan of rock music which is often played on electric guitar this image here shows just how good he is as he focuses on the chords. Jack is responsible for performing in the music video and sorting out what we are going to wear as well as the props that are going to be included.

Joel is shown here performing in front of the camera in the setting, this image captures his acting abilities as it really looks as if he is putting his heart and soul into the performance which every audience member would like to see from their musical idols. Joel is responsible for what days we are filming on, which scenes we are going to be filming, who's going to be in the music video and making sure everyone in the group works together.

Filming day

These are the photos from our fourth day of filming these photos show our creative talents put to the best of use. with jack playing guitar which makes him look like a real musician and myself miming the words makes us look like professionals. Scott on the camera knows exactly what he is doing and this helps us a great deal as even with limited settings available he is still able to produce a great days worth of filming. This shows how we have come together as a team to produce a great days worth of filming and that we have come along way in terms of our progress from what we originally planned to do.

The Fray- Amateur music video

The following music video is of a Media GCSE standard, this music video uses the same music that we are going to do a music video for.

The music video setting is very amateurish as its set in a bed room of the girl in the music video with no effects used to make the music video dark or twisted as the subject used in the music video is a very sensitive issue that is of bullying. The use of the phone to show how the girl is being bullied is very good but the camera work is very shaky which shows that the person using the camera was inexperienced.
The acting shown is also very amateurish as she pauses in the middle of the bathroom for a awkward amount of time and then falls down randomly, the people who created this music video never questioned the activity and never tried to do everything with a purpose or a reason. The camera can also be seen one point with no attempt to try and change the scene or to cover it up, this shows an extreme amount of laziness.

The setting used for the second girl is typical average home, the lighting isn't very good as no effects have been used besides the normal camera settings. There is no performance in the music video which shows that they haven't thought more about the music video and looked at the actual music video for the fray. The edits and quick shots used are very good as it shows the settings used and it shows the girls story and where her path has taken her, it also shows the way bullying can affect some people so in that way the music video works well, but still overall you can see it was created by an amateur rather than someone with experience in camera work.

The editing is done well ad it quickly cuts fros one scene to another without any interruptions which is what we want to incorporate into our music video especially around the chorus but we are also looking at other types of cuts including transitions such as fading in and fading out.
