This is a link to our Twitter page, The page as a whole is certainly not fully created and or finished. it needs to be more interactive with the audience with more pictures from the band members and direct tweets from the bad members to get a sense that they are directly interacting with the band through the computer

This is a link to our Facebook page having both a twitter and Facebook page will give off the sense that we are an official band, the only problem is that we cant get over a million likes or followers due to us not being a real band but this is an example of how we would approach advertising ourselves in social media

Treatment
Background on the artist - The lead singer of The Fray is Isaac Slade, Isaac was born on Mary 26th 1981 (age 32). Isaac studied in Music and Entertainment when he was younger, this led forward to a music career. Isaac had formed a band with two other members and which is called Ember, the other members Dave Welsh and Ben Wysocki had key parts in the band. But later the band dissolved in spring 2002. Later on Dave and Ben rejoined with Isaac to form a new band 'The Fray'. Ember had little success this is due to their popularity with their audience.
The idea behind 'The Fray' - The reason why the band had formed together was due to the re-join of former members of 'Ember', Dave and Ben. Both of them had joined 'The Fray' which already consisted of Isaac and his former school friend 'King'
In this post there is also a followed scheme, I have followed a similar style to 'ember' and 'The Fray', in the i
In the picture below there is a colour scheme used. This is also used in Isaac's previous band. The main colour of both bands is Orange, we can use this colour to represent the genre and the song that we have chosen.

October Half Term- Blog Homework
As group leader, I assigned us all homework to complete over the half term in order to be up to date with all of our blogs
Jack is responsible for treatment on where the music video idea has come from, he is also going to incorporate his own idea into the original ideas. Jack with his good knowledge of music should be perfect for this task as he should be able to picture certain aspects of the music video that he wants to replicate.
Scott is responsible for creating the logo and also taking pictures that we can incorporate into the album cover. Scott with his artistic capabilities should create this task with ease as he plans to put his own ideas of the logo into the design then scan it in by hand.
Joel is going to create a Facebook page for the band also edit the twitter page to make the band seem more real and believable, he is also going to look at location ideas of where to film and make a blog post on this.
Target Audience
Our target audience would consist of a similar target audience to bands we are trying to replicate such as The Script and The Fray. These bands aim at a target audience of both male and females aged between 16-27, this expands the audience to those who look at music videos a lot at this is a large total of the population who regularly use the internet and browse music videos for entertainment.
Indie is one of the largest types of genre available to people all over the world, millions of people have purchased albums of the indie genre and is a relatable genre of music to relate to a lot of different subject and themes.
Bands such as the Hoosiers, The Script, The Fray, Of Monsters and Men, Two Door Cinema Club, Mumford and Sons, Snow Patrol and One Republic. The indie genre has been dominated by masses of bands who have mixed the genre with their own twist of rock. The reason we have pursued a band with the genre of Indie is because the indie genre is aimed at people with the same music tastes and age as me and the people in my group.
Bands within the indie genre are commonly seen wearing their own unique brand of clothing and style. They incorporate their clothing into the music videos to relate it into the video and to also the music itself.

Clothing collage
Clothing collage
In the image above is a Clothing collage, the collage shows various clothing that represents the song and the genre involved. The collage also includes two images at the bottom that are related to our song choice, The fray - in the picture it shows what kind of clothes that the band wears.
In the collage there is shoes, hats, gloves, jeans, bracelets and t-shirts/jackets. Each one of these are shown in the picture of the Fray.
Where Has It Been Used
This song took off after it appeared on the second season of the hit ABC TV show Grey's Anatomy. The song was used in the episode "Superstition" after the show's music supervisor saw The Fray perform in Los Angeles. The song became a minor hit after being used in the episode, then gained more popularity when it was used in the promotional campaign for the third season of Grey's Anatomy.
On September 21, 2006, a Grey's Anatomy version of the music video (similar to the one made for Snow Patrol's "Chasing Car") was shown prior to the third season premiere of the show. The song was also released as one of the tracks on the Grey's Anatomy, Vol. 2 soundtrack album, and would later be used in the trailer for the Australian release of the show.

Album Possibilities
This first album was created by Joel Lampkin, the album was meant to represent a sort of indie feel to it the type of graffiti shown behind the main figure represents the type of urban style that the band tries to give off. The whole back story to the band is meant to be able to be seen just on this album cover as the album cover is very simple but shown in the reflection in the glasses is the world thats became open to the indie/urban style humble band.
This is the second album created by Jack Hughes, the album is related to the band and the group, Jack created this album cover in Photoshop. He had used various editing and skill in order to create this piece, it shows the cat that is related to the album name and the title 'Sad, sex and the Cat'. Overall this cover is simple to read through and look at, this makes it suited towards anyone that is purchasing the album.
This is the Third album created by Scott Jenkinson, the album cover was designed on the adobe programme photoshop. This Album Cover is a little different because it involved the band name.

Band name research
Band name research
In todays lesson we had to research for our band name, when doing this we had looked at many different bands that are related to our genre choice. When looking at other bands we had to string together two different words/names to create a band name, when we were doing this we had to think about our choice all the time. This is due to our song choice and genre choice, we had also looked at several videos.
We had also used online band name generators, on this site we could include key words to help us find a name, we looked through many different pages to find our name. On other generator sites we could also include what genre that we are focused on.
Storyboard
Above is a picture storyboard of the music video we play to create, we will eventually create a drawn storyboard of our final project as we are not at the stage of production.
First picture(Opening Scene)- Will show a band member singing whilst leaning on a table with a soft spotlight coming over him. This opening scene will tell the audience that the song is powerful and dramatic.
Second Picture- The camera will follow the main character into his home where he becomes increasingly frustrated with his home and his girlfriend, as you will be able to tell by his movements.
Third Picture- Shows the main character arguing with his girlfriend this adds tension to the songs and makes the audience feel enticed as to what will happen next.
Fourth Picture- The band will be shown performing throughout various times in the song but just after halfway will be the longest time they will perform for.
Fifth Picture- Shows the main character clearly upset with himself and the argument he had with his girlfriend so he goes to look for her.
Sixth Picture- The main character finds his girlfriend on the floor unconscious next to a bottle of pills and alcohol he tries to wake her up and holds her in his arms while crying

Diary Entry One
During Week one - Week two, we used most of our time trying to find a song for us that we all know due to our music genre's being very diverse. We all have a good background of working with cameras so we all understood that we had to find a song that was very challenging in terms of what our abilities are capable of.
We had a meeting with a student called Daniel Cantlay, who give us his views on the song and what it meant to him.
Daniel, What emotion does the song The fray- How to save a life give off to you?
The song immediately strikes me as a sad song due to the songs tone and just the lyrics involved give of a sad feel its almost as you can understand what the person singing the song is singing.
Have you ever heard the song before on an advert or television show?
I think I heard the song on a show like scrubs or greys anatomy, the song is only rarely used as its a very delicate song and it shouldn't be over used like many other songs have been like the way the x factor has done with some songs like Westlife
Do you think the song is easily replicable, as in a good music video could be created by us as students?
It will be hard to replicate but I think it can be done if the balance between the music video and the song can be created, the video itself must be as powerful as the song is or it wont work as well as what it should.
Thank you Daniel
Your welcome

Lyrics and meaning
Meaning of the song
Lead singer meaning - Isaac Slade explained that he wrote this song about an experience he had working at a camp for troubled youths: "One of the kids I was paired up with was a musician. Here I was, a protected suburbanite, and he was just 17 and had all these problems. And no one could write a manual on how to save him. I got a lot of email about it. One kid died in a car accident, and I guess it had been the last song he downloaded from his computer. They played it at his funeral, and some of his friends got 'Save a life' tattooed on their arms. The response has been overwhelming."
What the song means to the group
Jack - The main subject of the song is about death and emotion, I think this because of the lyrics used, style of the song, genre and the overall video. This is even shown in the title of the song - 'How to save a life'. Saving a life can be a emotional thing, this is due to the happiness of saving a life or not saving a life. Both ways are emotional in a way that it involves death and happiness.
Joel - I think that the song is negative, this is shown a lot in the lyrics and the overall song. I myself have looked at other related songs to this genre to compare them both. Overall this song stands out from the genre by its emotional/sad lyrics.
Scott - I think that the song is mainly about a couple joining together and breaking up, I think this because once again the lyrics used and the emotional feel of it. On the other side I find the song emotional for others, but for myself I do not think it is emotional.
Lyrics
Step one you say we need to talk
He walks you say sit down it's just a talk
He smiles politely back at you
You stare politely right on through
Some sort of window to your right
As he goes left and you stay right
Between the lines of fear and blame
You begin to wonder why you came
CHORUS:
Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
Let him know that you know best
Cause after all you do know best
Try to slip past his defense
Without granting innocence
Lay down a list of what is wrong
The things you've told him all along
And pray to God he hears you
And pray to God he hears you
CHORUS:
Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
As he begins to raise his voice
You lower yours and grant him one last choice
Drive until you lose the road
Or break with the ones you've followed
He will do one of two things
He will admit to everything
Or he'll say he's just not the same
And you'll begin to wonder why you came
CHORUS:
Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

The Fray -How to save a life
Our song, The fray how to save a life is a song predominantly known world wide we think many people will have their own connotation of the song and they will have their own understanding of what the song is about, we as a group decided that we feel that the music video doesn't do justice to the song and that it is barely memorable so we would be able to produce our own music video with our own direct meaning.
Song Planning
Our first plan was to create a music video for the song Hotel California by The Eagles, we got so far into the planning stage that we began our research into this song by making this sheet, we even began to think of concepts for the music video. We stopped planning when we dug into more research and realised that creating a music video for a song that lasted over 6 minutes was out of our depth, so we thought we should start looking into songs that were shorter such as just below the 4 minute mark.
We created another planning sheet for the song "How to save a life" by The Fray, this is a song we were all familiar with and we all had the same connotation of the song "Love". We chose this song as a group and we quickly got to work to make up for loss time with our former song, we created the planning sheet below in way more detail than the planning sheet above. In this sheet we even added our thoughts about what we planned to create for the music video.

The Fray - How to save a life
After many meetings me Joel Lampkin, Scott Jenkinson and Jack Hughes have come up with numerous song choices with many different genres and ideas. we came to a group decision to do The Fray- How to save a life, this well known song is familar to all of us in the group and to many of the other people in the class.
We have come up with a concept to use in the music video that we all have agreed on, we feel that the music video will be able to get the best out of all of us, the Music video is well known but we feel we can create our own video and create it in our own image.
The original video shows the band performing in a warehouse while many people are crying on a white setting these people represent those who have lost their lives in a car crash. The concept is very powerful but our own concept too is powerful so we believed we can emulate this and create a good standard music video
Questionnaire
In this blog post their will be a short questionnaire for you to answer. This would help us a lot on our research and help our group decied on our song or what genre it should be. Thank you for your time.

Times and Schedule
Week One
Week Two
Week Four
Week Five
Week Six
Here is a six week schedule plan that we have created in order for every person involved in the filming to be aware of when things are taking place. The meetings at the start of the week are so as that we can plan out the schedules to fit around people's timetables as people may have other commitments, the meeting is also there so we can plan what costumes people should be wearing throughout the week and also where we are meeting. By doing this we are becoming more efficient with our time as a group as we know where to meet and the times, plus what we are doing on each day. If people are not present or do not arrive on time it is easier to show as we can show this as evidence that they were meant to be there but that they did not arrive or did not arrive on time. We as a group are all aware as to what each period's times are and we have discussed that this means we should arrive 5 minutes before the period of filming is scheduled to begin in order to have more time to prepare
